“Agape”, Marida Maccari’s exhibition took place in the Centro Arte Moderna in Pisa, run by Massimiliano Sbrana, straddling last September and October.

It was organised and promoted within PAVC, acronym which stands for Promotion of Visual and Communicative Arts, and realized with the prestigious backing of the Culture Department of the Pisa area local Authority and with the cooperation of the Arts and Crafts Association of Tuscany and Sardinia.

The artist’s painting takes its nourishments from the same attractions which left an indelible mark in the great Tuscan maestri’s heart.

starting from Viani up to Rosai, without leaving out the living exponents of the new figurative movement of the Grand Duchy, from Talani to Falconi: Marida is perfect, when, with the typical frankness of real artists and totally free from graphic virtuosities and different expressions, that can be traced back to colouristic, dated and anachronistic grammars, reveals a secret dimension to us.

This is the alchemy, lived intimately and frankly, of a culture, which is naive and intrinsically highly enjoyable.
